How to use ThinkTank AI

Everything you need to get the most out of the app.

Getting started

Open the chat and start typing — no account needed. As a guest you can chat with the basic (blue) AI models, but your conversations aren't saved. Create a free account to keep your history, and upgrade to Plus or Pro from the pricing page to unlock every model.

Choosing an AI

Plus and Pro members can switch between all four models — Gemini Pro, Claude Sonnet 5, GPT-6 and GPT-5 Mini — anytime, even mid-conversation. Guests and free accounts chat with GPT-5 Mini; models that need Plus carry a “Plus” badge in the picker. Pick one and just keep chatting.

Solo chat vs. round table

Solo chat is a normal conversation with one AI. Round table mode sends your question to three AIs in sequence: one drafts an answer, the next critiques and improves it, and the third delivers a final verdict. It's slower but noticeably sharper for tricky questions.

Generating images

Switch the composer to Image mode, describe what you want, and the AI writes a detailed prompt and generates the image for you. Free accounts include 2 images a month, Plus includes 10, and Pro includes 50 — and a generation only counts toward your allowance when it succeeds, so failed attempts are free.

Run out before the month resets? Plus and Pro members can buy top-up packs — Plus can add 25 extra images ($2.99) or 5 extra videos ($4.99), and Pro can also buy the 10-video pack ($8.99). Top-up credits never expire and are used automatically once your monthly allowance is exhausted; you'll find them on the pricing page, in the chat when you hit a limit, and on your account page.

Video mode — how to use it

Switch the composer to Video mode and describe the scene you want — the more specific the better. Say what the subject does, where it happens, the lighting and the mood, and the AI turns it into a detailed scene prompt before generating the clip. Each video is a 6-second widescreen (16:9, 720p) clip with sound, and usually takes up to a minute.

Making a part 2: either ask for a continuation — “part 2”, “continue”, “next scene”, “another clip” — or tick the Continue last clip checkbox (you can leave the text box empty and just press send). The AI reads the previous clip's scene from your chat and writes the new one as a direct continuation: same subject, same style and setting, picking up where the last clip ended. For the smoothest results, keep continuation requests in the same conversation as the original clip.

Longer clips: pick 15s next to the length buttons to generate a 15-second video. Each 15-second clip uses one purchased long-video credit (a 5-clip pack is $24.99) and takes a few minutes. Every clip plays in the chat and can be downloaded from the video player, and every generated video is also saved to your library.

If the engine rejects a request, it's usually because the description resembles well-known copyrighted characters or shows — reword it to describe something original, and try again (a failed attempt never costs a credit).

Photo → Video — how to use it

Switch the composer to Photo → Video mode and attach a photo. Describe how the scene should move (optional), and the AI studies the photo, writes a scene that matches it exactly, and animates it — your photo becomes the video's first frame, so what comes to life really is your picture, not a lookalike. It typically takes a minute or two, and every plan includes photo-to-video generations.

Continuing a previous clip with a photo: tick the Continue last clip checkbox here too, then attach a photo of the same character — the new animation picks up where your previous clip ended, keeping the character and story consistent.

You can also attach a photo in normal chat and ask to “bring it to life” or “animate this” — the request goes straight to the animation flow. To animate the same photo again, reopen the earlier message and use its Animate action.

Privacy note: the animation engine can only reach publicly hosted files, so your photo is copied to a public link while the clip is generated. Only use photos you're happy to share, and avoid documents or personal images you'd want kept private.

Chatting with documents and photos

Attach a photo to ask questions about it, or attach a PDF to have a conversation about its contents. Attached files are visible in your message history and can be revisited anytime.

Business profile & promotion builder

The promotion builder — in the top navigation on the home page, or the red button in the chat sidebar — turns a simple offer into a headline, Facebook and Instagram captions, and optional image or video prompts and media. It's included with the Plus and Pro plans. Save a business profilefirst: its name, audience, tone, colours and approved facts (prices, dates, promises). The AI writes your promotion from those saved facts, and saved promotions can be reopened to view, download or regenerate their media. Always review the result for accuracy before you post it.

Plus includes one saved business profile; Pro supports multiple profiles — one per brand — each kept separate, so switching brands changes tone, facts and results.

Media library

Every image or video you generate is collected in the library (the images icon in the chat sidebar), including media generated in the promotion builder. Star chat items to favourite them (favourites apply to chat media only — builder items can't be favourited), filter by type, and download the file — favourites are remembered between visits.

Power tools

  • Web search — grounds answers in live web results (solo chat).
  • Instructions — give the AIs standing rules, e.g. "answer in bullet points".
  • Read aloud — speaks answers as they arrive.
  • Voice input — tap the mic to dictate instead of typing.
  • Prompt library — save and reuse your best prompts.
  • Export — download the whole conversation as a text file.

Managing conversations

Chats are saved and auto-titled from your first message. Use the sidebar to reopen, rename or delete them, and New chat to start fresh. If an answer isn't quite right, hover it and press Regenerate.

Plans and billing

Plus ($9.99 USD/mo) and Pro ($24.99 USD/mo) subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel anytime from the “Manage billing & cancel” button in the pricing section — it opens Stripe's secure customer portal. Access continues until the end of the paid period. For billing questions, contact support.
